Rev. Brandon Johnson
My name is Brandon and I recently joined First Christian Church after serving churches in Oklahoma and New Mexico. I was, born and raised in Iowa, but love living in Southern California. I received a BA in Religion and History from Transylvania University and a Master of Divinity from Yale University Divinity School. I look forward to working with FCC Burbank to strengthen our partnerships with community-based organizations, while affirming God’s universal love. When I’m not at church you will find me running, hiking, or traveling.
Rev. Beth McQuitty
Director of Family Ministries
My name is Beth and I am the Youth Pastor here at FCCB. I was born and raised in Burbank – and I love this city! I have a BA in Communication Studies, an MA in Theology from Fuller Theological Seminary, and have been working in church ministry for over 15 years. I love good wine, food, and coffee, running, cooking, traveling, the Dodgers, and spending time with friends.
Office Administrator & Wedding Coordinator
I’m Janine and a Buckeye through and through. After graduating from Wright State University in 2009 (B.S. in Business), my husband and I moved to L.A. to pursue our careers. In addition to being the Office Administrator and Wedding Coordinator for FCCB, I also am a freelance event planner, and Independent Mary Kay Consultant. I have a passion for event planning, traveling, wine, cooking, outdoors and music.
I'm Britt Kusserow and I am the Music Director at First Christian Church Burbank. I am an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, with a specialization in LGBTQ+ Affirmative Therapy from Antioch University Los Angeles. Music, in particular worship music, is of great importance to me. I grew up in an affirming and welcoming church environment in Indiana, which in no small part led me to work for several years as an openly gay youth minister directing (cat herding) a youth band as part of my day-to-day. Here at FCC I lead worship by incorporating theologically progressive music from diverse voices into our services. Additionally, I work with our fantastic leadership team to continue to advance our social justice and community offerings and outreach.
Worship Pianist/Service Accompanist
I am Marina Melikian, the Worship Pianist at FCCB. I have attended FCCB since 2009 and my 2 daughters grew up in the Sunday School. I was born and raised in Armenia in a family of pianists. I graduated from Yerevan State Conservatory and hold a Master’s Degree in Piano Performance and Composition. Besides my work as Service Accompanist at FCCB, I work as a Music and Piano Teacher at Victory Montessori Schools. During my leisure time, I enjoy traveling, spending time with family and friends, cooking and inviting people to our house for dinner.
Sunday School Teacher
I am Nellie Rafaelian and I work with the kids in Sunday School! I grew up in this church as a little girl in 2009. I am grateful to have the opportunity to teach the children about the Bible in Sunday School every week! I am currently attending college to pursue my studies in Anthropology to become a Lawyer. I am responsible, diligent, and strive to be the best version of myself. I enjoy traveling, dancing, eating good food, and spending quality time with my friends and family.
